With over 10 years of experience in ABA therapy, psychology, biology and academics, Build-A-Block prides itself in the quality of its service. We are a small company and we focus on the personal touch, so you feel at home.

Kristel bio
Kristel is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Kristel is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who has over a decade of experience working with children and adults with an array of developmental disabilities, primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Florida. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree, Kristel attended Western New England University in Massachusetts where she earned her Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). During her studies there, she worked at the New England Center for Children (NECC). After graduating, Kristel spent some time in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where she trained teachers to utilize the principles of ABA and developed programs to address challenging behavior, functional communication skills, social skills, and academic skills of students with ASD. Kristel has worked with many bilingual families and children in their home and school settings. She has also worked closely with families and schools to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEP). Kristel has developed in-home, ABA-based early intervention curriculum for children with ASD and trained staff and parents in the implementation of such curriculum.
Build-A-Block came up as a life goal to deliver quality ABA services to the children and families who need it and also to provide quality ABA training to the staff who deliver such services. Working with Ana for so many years and sharing the same passion for delivering these services has helped catapult that goal into reality.
Kristel hopes to continue expanding her knowledge and education in the field of ABA as well as aid in the growth and development of those in need of services.
Ana bio
Ana Jácome was a Registered Behavior Technician
Ana Jácome was a Registered Behavior Technician with over seven years of experience working with children and teenagers diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other related disorders.
Ana earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Florida International University and is completing her Master’s Degree in Neuropsychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
While doing pre-med studies, Ana enrolled in an internship in ABA where she fell in love with the field. She has since dedicated her career to helping special needs children and families. She has provided services in settings that include center-based facilities, home, community and school classrooms. Ana has conducted numerous trainings for parents, caregivers, and school staff on the implementation of ABA procedures. Ana also has experience in implementing behavior plans to help diminish problem behaviors and increase a range of adaptive coping mechanisms, including functional communication and social skills.
After many years of working together in the field of ABA, Ana and Kristel decided to combine their passion and knowledge to create Build-A-Block Children Therapy Solutions, Inc. Their goal is to help children reach their fullest potential by providing them with the highest quality ABA services.
